Quark has released QuarkXPress 7.3, a maintenance release for its professional design software.
The update - which is available as a free download from the company website - addresses the most frequently reported issues identified by XPress 7 users.
These include significant performance improvements in spellchecking, saving projects and text handling, all of which are now handled significantly faster in some situations than before.

The QuarkXPress 7.3 updater also includes enhancements to collecting for output, multiple-copy output, and project file size.
The new Default PDF Output Styles feature, which requires no additional set up, also adds more options for PDF output, including new choices for press, print, screen and PDF resolution.
The update also offers new localised user interfaces in European Portuguese, Finnish, Croatian, Hungarian, and Russian, increasing the number of languages supported by QuarkXPress from seven to eighteen.
In addition to new user interfaces in these five languages, the updater also includes hyphenation and spelling support for Ukrainian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Slovenian, Latvian, Estonian, Icelandic, and Slovak.
