A hubbub of complaints on Apple's discussion forums claim a problem in which QuickTime 7.4 disables Adobe After Effects.

The problem is also being reported on video editing focused websites and on Adobe's own support forums.

What is being reported are claims that attempting to render files after installation of the update generates a DRM permissions error, which implicates some software tweaks made within QuickTime in order to furnish support for film rentals in iTunes as culprit.

Affected professional users have found the only solution at present is to reinstall Mac OS X without the QuickTime update.
