A reminder that  G-Technology by Hitachi are backing the G-Technology Driven Creativity Awards, promising €5,000, around £4,112 to the top creative talent.

Creative individuals who enter to win will have the opportunity to have their work and talent celebrated and recognised not just for the aesthetic qualities, but for the dedication, invention and drive that has gone into creating it insists Hitachi.

As developers of innovative storage solutions, successful entrants will all receive the latest G-Technology external drives as prizes.

A prestigious jury panel will see entrants’ work will part-judged by G-Technology’s ambassadors including: Grammy award-winning music producer Kipper, renowned photographer Tim Flach and Ivor Novello winner  and  Killzone composer Joris de Man. Editors from Macworld and Digital Arts will also take part in the judging process with parent company IDG honoured to be a media partner for the awards.

The general public will be able to judge the competition submissions online throughout the entry period, with the shortlisted entries from each category then being judged by the G-Technology jury panel once the public entry closes.

Individuals entering the competition can submit work now through the official G-Technology website under one of three categories - photography, music or film/animation – either as a professional or non-professional.

Entrants need to explain what 'drove' them to create the piece being submitted and how they would use the prize to develop their next creative project.

Entry is free and open to residents in UK, France and Germany and only original work created in 2009 or 2010 is eligible. The entry period closes in just weeks, at midnight on 29 September, 2010, with the winners and runners-up announced on 29 October, 2010.  

Panel members, including leaders in their particular creative field, will be contributing exclusive hints and tips to the entrants and wider creative community about what they will and won’t be looking for in each submission, reflecting on what creative techniques and projects inspire them.

Work will be judged for its uniqueness, quality, creativity and the resourcefulness that went into achieving the end result. The competition will recognise established and up-and-coming talent, with all entrants having an equal chance of winning, regardless of size and budget within each category insists the organisers.

As well as rewarding the winning entrants with prizes, G-Technology will further celebrate and promote the successful work by showcasing it at an exclusive week-long gallery exhibition at The Brick Lane Gallery in London’s East End, from 16-22, November 2010.  This will include a private view, that will bring together successful entrants, G-Technology representatives, competition judges and members of the press.
