Roxio has released Popcorn 3.
Popcorn 3 is the company's software solution that enables Mac users to transfer their favourite personal video entertainment to DVDs and popular portable devices.
The latest version uses a universal video conversion and encoding technology optimised for iPhone, iPod, Apple TV, Blackberry, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3s. It also supports TivoToGo and EyeTV.
“As the proliferation of video sources and playback options continues, we wanted to provide Mac users with the most flexible application for accessing video content anytime, anywhere,“ said Vito Salvaggio, vice president, Mac Business Unit, Sonic Solutions.
Popcorn 3 is equipped with a variety of features designed to simplify and accelerate the otherwise time consuming and CPU intensive video conversion process, including automatic and batch conversion support.
The software offers Pause and Resume buttons that enable users to suspend a disc copy or video conversion project, work on a different task, then resume when convenient.
Batch DVD-Video Conversion lets users queue up multiple DVDs for use with Roxio’s Fit-to-DVD technology. Popcorn 3 users can create DVD’s up to four hours long.
Popcorn 3 offers a Video Quality Preview that enables consumers to review a snippet of converted video to check video quality prior to initiating the full encoding process.
For even faster conversions, the software also supports Elgato’s Turbo.264.
