Adobe's Creative Suite 3 Design Premium software bundle includes new versions of the tools for page layout, image editing, illustration and PDF workflows as well as new components for creating websites, interactive experiences, and mobile content.
Here we look at three new features in InDesign CS3:
1) Enhanced transparency and effects
Transparency and blending modes can be independently applied to an object’s stroke, fill, and text. Photoshop-quality creative effects can be applied and edited at any time while maintaining quality.
2) Productivity enhancements
Quickly go to any page using a mouse wheel in the Pages panel. A context menu gives fast access to menu commands, including adjustments to the display size of the new thumbnail previews.
3) Table and cell formatting
Easily format tables from Word and Excel spreadsheets. Oneclick reformatting applies different cell styles for header rows, footer rows, alternating columns, and left and right columns as part of a single table style.
We take a look at all the features in the long-awaited combined offering of Adobe and Macromedia design and web products in our Adobe Creative Suite 3 feature in the May edition of Macworld, on sale Thursday 29 March.
