Free utility Wake Assist 1.0 from Mac developer DssW helps fix a rare stuck-until-clicked wake bug in Mac OS X.
Wake Assist helps by providing a couple of automated mouse clicks after waking from sleep; these clicks help nudge a stuck Mac to fully wake up.
"We hope this tool delights those few Mac users having problems with Mac OS X's energy saving capabilities." said Graham Miln, DssW's director.
Wake Assist runs quietly in the background. When the Mac wakes up Wake Assist checks for user activity; if no activity is detected, a couple of automatic mouse clicks are performed to display and hide the Apple menu.
This tool is aimed at users taking advantage of Apple's Energy Saver schedule to wake up their Mac without a user being present. This capability is often used to automate backups.
