UK software developer, Wirral's Editlite Limited, is developing software for use with Apple's new version of iMovie.
The software, YouView, is currently in open beta testing. Editlite claims Apple is now working with the company, with a view to streamlining the existing solution for use with iMovie.
Like the current version of iMovie, YourView enables to you tag and identify video clips using simple graphic icons. It supports the assignation of star ratings, fast editing of clips, has the ability to highlight sections of video and offers some simple editing features.
Editlite’s managing director Ian Woolsey told the Liverpool Daily Post: “Our product enables iMovie video editing to be done literally at the touch of a button. Apple’s involvement with YourView is a great endorsement and we are delighted to be working with them."
The company has received £300,000 of Merseyside Special Investment funding.
The software is presently available (in beta) for Mac OS X, though a Windows version is apparently in development.
