Adobe has set up an $8 million research and development centre on the outskirts of Delhi, India.
The company plans to hire 150 engineers in the country. It's the second such centre belonging to the company in India, and means Adobe will soon be employing 850 engineers in the country.
Adobe India managing director Naresh Chand Gupta told Reuters: "In October 2002 we announced we would invest $50 million in India over the next five years and we are fairly ahead of those investment plans."
Adobe India has filed 25 patents since research and development began on the sub-continent, three of which have so far been granted.
Adobe's newly-promoted chief operating officer Shantanu Narayen said: "The India development centre of Adobe is developing new products, core technologies and components for existing products," Narayen said.
