Adobe has released a demo version of AfterEffects 6.0.
The demo offers the majority of the features of the company's motion graphics effects application, though some features are disabled.
Announced July 7, the new version of After Effects introduces a number of enhancements for film, video, DVD and Web content creators, including: new support for OpenGL, Render Automation, much-improved text tools and a new integrated vector paint engine.
This version offers better integration with Photoshop and Illustrator, and Adobe has also revised After Effect's user interface introducing such features as the capacity to use the hand tool to pan beyond the visible pasteboard; the power to apply effects and masks directly to some Illustrator files.
Both Mac OS X and Windows demos are available. the Mac version weighs in at 202.3MB. Registration is required to download the product.
Full versions cost £865 for the Professional Edition and £535 for the Standard Edition. (Prices exclude VAT).
