Adobe has announced a promotion to encourage its PageMaker customers to upgrade to Adobe InDesign 1.5.
From July 1 to October 1, registered PageMaker customers can buy InDesign 1.5 for a discount price of £189 (excluding VAT). PageMaker is used in the business and corporate markets for newsletters and corporate brochures. InDesign is Adobe’s solution for high-end graphics and publishing, and is built to interact smoothly with the rest of Adobe’s range of publishing tools.
Peter Kellogg-Smith, Adobe’s director of product management, said: "Adobe is committed to meeting the needs of all publishers, with this upgrade offer, Adobe is offering its professional-level PageMaker users an option to handle even the most complex publishing job."
InDesign is based on a new, extendible, open, object-orientated architecture with a number of productivity-enhancing features (see Macword’s Review of InDesign 1). It requires Mac OS 8.5 or later, and costs £445 (excluding VAT).
