Adobe has released GoLive 5.0, its Web-authoring software.
It integrates with Adobe’s other Web-design tools - including Photoshop, Illustrator, LiveMotion, Premiere and After Effects - to offer powerful workflow tools for workgroups.
The application presents a suite of Web-design tools through an interface that is familiar to users of other Adobe products, such as Photoshop. GoLive 5.0 can be used in either a simple mode, or an advanced mode for more experienced users.
Code names One of GoLive 5.0’s most touted features is its ability to completely control any Web source code. It supports .psd, .ai and .liv files, and carries Photoshop’s imaging engine within the application.
GoLive 5.0 also offers site management and planning tools, easing the process of building and managing Web sites within a workgroup. Adobe’s Michael Hopwood said: "With version 5.0 we’re empowering professional Web-designers with the richest visual-design tool to date."
Available now, GoLive 5.0 costs £199, and can be purchased online or through authorized resellers. Registered users of GoLive can upgrade for £65. The product is also available as part of the Adobe Web Collection, which includes Illustrator 9.0, LiveMotion 1.0 and Photoshop 5.5, the collection costs £669.
