Adobe took top honours at a prestigious industry awards ceremony yesterday.
PC World gave Adobe InDesign 1.5 victory in the "Best Desktop Publishing Software" category. Adobe’s Photoshop 5.5 took equal first place in the "Best Image Editing Software" category, sharing victory with the Windows-only Jasc Paint Shop Pro 6.
The PC World editors called Adobe InDesign 1.5: "A budding star among desktop-publishing tools, with powerful navigation features, Adobe PDF output and multiple levels of undo". Photoshop 5.5 was praised for its "rich-feature set and its high-end Web-graphics application".
In his acceptance speech, Adobe senior vice president Bryan Lamkin said: "Adobe is pleased to be recognized by PC World for providing superior graphics and publishing products." He also promised Adobe would "continue to offer professionals the most complete, powerful design solutions for Web, dynamic-media and print publishing".
