Adobe has launched a Middle East version of its Creative Suite.
The version offers Arabic language support for design and publishing companies in the region, but is otherwise identical with any other version of the suite. It consists of Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS, InDesign CS, GoLive CS, Acrobat 6.0 Professional and Version Cue.
It supports a number of third party fonts widely used by graphic designers in the Middle East, including the Arabic XT font.
The suite ships with special settings for laying out Arabic text, including setting the paragraph and character direction; a ligature option; support for Arabic, Farsi or Hindi digits.
Additional features include: an Arabic dictionary; a table of contents title that sorts content by Arabic conventions; and "a host of extra fonts".
