Apple has updated its AirPort Extreme Firmware once again, releasing version 5.1.3 of the software for both Windows and Mac.
The 1MB download offers a number of enhancements, including better security, improved USB printing, and better protection against network interference.
Apple's notes confirm the update offers: "Enhanced security for handling unsolicited Internet traffic, including different types of denial-of-service attacks, that may be directed at an AirPort Extreme Base Station. The new protection mechanisms in this firmware will help prevent loss of Internet connectivity."
The Base Station's capacity to maintain a connection when other 2.4GHz devices interfere with the network has been improved, Apple says: "Base station Interference Robustness, which provides improved performance when 2.4GHz devices like cordless phones and wireless video distribution system cause significant interference with the AirPort network."
Set-up has also been simplified.
