Apple has released an International English version of AirPort 1.1, a software update for the Airport Card and Base Station.
Available at the Apple Software Updates Web site, the update offers "an improved user experience", new functionality - such as active roaming - and a preview version of the software base station. The North American version of the update was posted on 31 January.
According to the notes on Apple’s Web site, customers that have an AirPort Base Station but no AirPort Card can use the contents of the Base Station Extras folder to administer the Airport Base Station.
System requirements are Mac OS 8.6 or 9.0 on an AirPort capable iMac, iBook or PowerMac, and Mac OS 9.0 on PowerBook G3 series.
