Aladdin Systems has updated InstallerMaker to version 7.0, which can create Carbonized installers for Mac OS X Public Beta.
The application enables developers to create complete installation packages for software distributions. It has been developed to create installers which support versions 8.1 and higher of the Mac OS.
Pauline Shumake, InstallerMaker product manager, said: "InstallerMaker 7.0 brings next-generation installers to the forefront, by allowing developers to create fast and technically-savvy installations of their software for the Mac OS X Public Beta."
Aladdin is running a shareware programme for shareware and freeware developers. Members get a free one-year Stuffit InstallerMaker license for their non-commercial products, technical support and the chance to get their products distributed on Aladdin's product CDs.
New features include a software license-agreement feature, that requires end-users to accept or decline the agreement before software is installed. The application has been updated for StuffIt 6.0, and includes 16 new locations for use as install destinations of items and source locations of tasks.
A free trial-version for software developers is available from Aladdin. The application requires a PowerPC-based Mac running System 7.0.1 or later.
