The iPod mini was one of the most memorable product launches of last year, recent research reveals.

Macsimum News reveals that the Third Annual Schneider/Stagnito Communications Most Memorable New Product Launch Survey shows that 21 per cent of 1,000 consumers surveyed remembered the launch.

Joan Holleran, editor of Stagnito’s New Product Magazine said: “This year’s memorable launches show a mix of new and improved product offerings from favourite brands with products featuring new technologies.”

Consumers seemingly are growing resistant to advertising - 56 per cent of customers couldn't remember a single new product launch. US advertising spend climbed 7 per cent last year.

In related news, Business 2.0 fetaured Apple's U2 silhouette iPod ad campaign in its 2005 Smart List, calling it the "Smartest ad campaign."
