The annual Digital Media World exhibition is being held this year at London's Olympia 2 (November 14-16, 2000). The show focuses on all areas of moving-image creativity from film, video, entertainment, special-effects and post-production through to multimedia content, Internet and Intranet creation, and various forms of new media.
While many of the technologies were not available on the Mac platform, Apple is present at the event – with its Macintosh Solutions Village. At the Technology Presentation Theatre, attendees can see demonstrations of Final Cut Pro, iMovie 2 and QuickTime 5. They can also take part in a Hands-on Technology Workshop.
Other companies exhibiting at the show include: Alias/Wavefront whose Maya 3D animation application will ship when Mac OS X is released in its non-beta form next year; Avid technology (Softimage); Curious Labs; Cycore; Discreet; Extensis; SGI; Sony; and Macromedia.
Macworld's cross-platform creative sister magazine Digit awarded Best of Show accolades, as well as hosting a hospitality suite with Computers 2000.
