As Apple Expo opens its doors, Apple has announced that it has sold five million songs through the European iTunes stores.
The iTunes Music Store has sold 100 million since it opened in the USA last April.
Apple opened iTunes Music Stores in Britain, France and Germany ten weeks ago on June 23. Apple VP worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller also repeated a recent Apple promise to the assembled throng - iTunes Music Store Europe (which serves all territories not already covered by a store) will open in October.
The company also claims to have sold four million iPods worldwide, giving the company 58 per cent of the music player market.
