USWeb/CKS, the organizer of the ill-fated Apple Expo, London, 2000, has merged with Whittman-Hart.
The combined company intends concentrating on Internet projects, including helping established brands use the Internet strategically, supporting dot.com startups, and guiding bricks-and-mortar companies transitions to Internet businesses. It will also continue to develop managed services and ASP (Application Services Provider) offerings.
The new company will temporarily be known as Whittman-Hart & USWeb/CKS. Existing USWeb/CKS shareholders own 57 per cent of the merged company, while Whittman-Hart shareholders hold a 43 per cent stake. The combined company will have market capitalization of approximately US$14 billion, according to an earlier statement.
