Apple has extended the subscription period for former iTools members so that those signing up for the company's .Mac services can use the service for longer.
Formerly, existing iTools members signing up for Apple's .Mac services complained that the billing period ran for a year from the day they paid. MacMinute reports that now those who sign up before the termination of their .Mac trial account on September 30 will now enjoy a full year's membership until September 30, 2003.
A note on Apple's .Mac FAQ page reads: “If you join .Mac on or before September 30, 2002, your membership will be extended to September 30, 2003.”
It also explains: “Due to the large number of .Mac sign-ups, however, don't be concerned if your expiration date is September 30 or a few days later. Check your account to see your exact expiration date.”
Subscriptions purchased after September 30 will run for a full year from the date of purchase, the note explains.
Apple is currently offering .Mac subscriptions to existing iTools users for $49.95. The regular price is $99.95.
