Apple faces price pressure in the Far East market, where more obscure flash-based music players dominate the market.

It's a busy market in Taiwan, with 70,000-80,000 MP3 players sold each month, reports DigiTimes. 20-25 per cent of these sales are iPod nanos, 35-40 per cent are other leading brands and 40 per cent are minor and unknown makes of music player.

The more obscure brands are around 20 per cent cheaper than iPod nanos, but of similar design and appearance, the report observes.
