Apple has been fined $100,000 as a result of an administrative oversight.

The US state of Washington has fined the company because it failed to register as a service contract provider. A report claims Apple failed to register as such a provider between 2000 to 2004, while the law came into force in 1999.

The law demands that all companies that sell service contracts should register with the state's Office of the Insurance Commissioner. That representative did say that he had received no complaints about Apple's service contracts and that Apple is now registered.
