While the UK awaits its very own retail Apple Store, Apple is to get a new prestigious shop front - this time from Harrods, the Knightsbridge-based department store of the rich and famous.
Harrods plans to stock Apple products in its revamped Sound and Vision department, which is scheduled to open in April.
Located on the third floor of the world-famous store, the department will sell Apple products, digital cameras and the latest in-car entertainment systems.
Harrods says: "The product catalogue has been chosen by the team at Harrods to reflect the superior quality and design aesthetics demanded by today's consumer. No more cumbersome, bulky, black plastic boxes - instead sleek and ergonomic styling is supported by the latest in technology and innovation."
The release explains: "Harrods has long been the epitome of luxury and style". The revamped department aims to, "bring the same sense of sought-after style to the realm of home entertainment".
