Lucasfilms and Apple will broadcast the Star Wars: Episode II Web movie trailer exclusively in QuickTime.
This follows the success of the previous trailer for Star Wars: Episode 1, which recorded over 35 million downloads. Star Wars: Episode II is still in production, but QuickTime is being used to broadcast a series of live, unscripted updates direct from the set.
In a statement, Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, said: "We love Star Wars, and we’re pleased to be working with George and his team to bring Episode II to the Web." The two companies have reached a multi-year agreement in which all Web-video-based Lucas content for Episode II will be streamed in QuickTime.
