Apple CEO Steve Jobs has moved to reassure investors that they don’t need to anticipate another processor migration, telling the Wall Street Journal, “We’re very happy with Intel”.

Jobs’ comments follows news of Apple’s acquisition of PA Semi last week. Jobs was trying to explain the rationale behind the investment - and it appears the team from PA Semi will be deployed in refining low power processor technologies for the iPod and iPhone.

"We have a great partnership with Intel. We expect that to continue forever,” Jobs said, admitting that the 150 engineers coming to Apple as a result of the PA Semi purchase will be tasked with chip design for mobile devices.

Apple has no plans to return to the PowerPC platform in its Macs, he explained.
