The manager of Apple India has quit the company.
According to a report in The Times of India Mahendran Balachandran – who joined in December 2001 – has left Apple for the US.
Apple has had a presence in India only in the past ten years, and in that time has seen five country heads, adds the report.
According to the article Apple is beginning to gain a foothold in the Indian market through its retail and education strategy. It states: "Last year Apple broadened its base in the education segment, and embarked on its retail journey by setting up the maiden Apple Centre in Bangalore. In education it is targeting K12 students, in addition to engineering colleges, fashion and multimedia institutes."
