Apple has licensed Amazon’s 1-Click technology, Reuters claims.

1-Click is an online-shopping solution, developed by Amazon for use on its online stores. 1-Click lets regular Apple Store users complete a purchase with a single click. This means credit-card and billing information need only be entered during the first purchase.

Approach Reuters also reports that Mitch Mandich, Apple’s senior VP of worldwide sales, saying it was Apple that approached Amazon about licensing the technology.

He also revealed that Apple’s online store accounts for 25 per cent of the company’s revenues.

Court battle Amazon is currently fighting Barnes and Noble in the US courts over the second company’s use of a very similar technology, which Amazon claims is copied from its own solution.

Apple says that it plans to use the technology with popular products on its AppleStore front page.
