Apple has launched the iTunes Music Store in Canada.

The company had originally hoped to launch the store in November, but the launch date slipped slightly.

Apple yesterday said: "We said that we would launch the iTunes Music Store in Canada by the end of November, but we're going to miss this deadline by a bit".

Apple's market-leading music service is now available in the US, UK, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and The Netherlands.

Songs cost $0.99 on the Canadian store, which does not offer a French Canadian store front.
