Apple has launched its Power Mac G4 power supply exchange programme.
Under the programme, owners of Power Mac G4s with mirrored doors can exchange their original power supplies and system fans for new, quieter versions. This is to reduce the noise levels of the systems.
Apple is offering the power supply exchange kit at no charge for a shipping and handling fee of $19.95 (or equivalent local currency, according to the company). The kit includes a new 360W power supply; a system fan; instructions and a prepaid return airbill in which to return the original components to the company.
Users can also take their Macs and the kit to a local Authorised Apple Service Provider for installation. A variable fee may be charged.
The program runs from February 21, 2003 and ends on June 30, 2003.
