Apple vice president of applications Eddie Cue will offer a keynote speech at leading European music and entertainment industry event, Popkomm.
The event takes place in Berlin between September 14-16 on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.
Cue is the Apple executive tasked with developing and marketing iTunes Music Store. According to the exhibitors, Cue will: "Speak about the many ways to earn money with digital recordings".
Music industry in flux
Popkomm director Katja Bittner explained: "The music business has a lot of fundamental issues on the agenda. These need discussing in order to reach practical solutions as quickly as possible."
Congress manager Constanze Althoff added: "Digitization has made the business amazingly flexible. The issues that this throws up concern legal aspects, performers, but also marketing and sales, and these questions have influenced the choice of topics at the Popkomm Congress."
Other keynote speakers include: David Goldberg, vice president of Yahoo Music; Ilkka Raiskinen, senior vice president, entertainment products at Nokia Multimedia in France; Inventor of the MP3 standard, Professor Doctor Karlheinz Brandenburg (Fraunhofer- Institut); Dieter Gorny (MTV) and Rene Baumann alias DJ Bobo.
