Apple has posted a teaser on the homepage of its online store in the UK promising a "special one-day event" on 25 November with discounted items on offer.

That's this Friday, or as it is known in the US 'Black Friday' - the day after Thanksgiving and traditionally the start of the Christmas shopping season.

Though no details of any Black Friday deals have been revealed yet, Apple is promising "amazing iPad, iPod and Mac gifts" and "special pricing and free delivery" on items bought online that day.

Apple typically runs a Black Friday promotion every year and in 2009 offered discounts such as a £71 saving on a 21.5-inch or 27-inch iMac, £71 saving on a 13-inch, 15-inch or 17-inch MacBook Pro, £11 off the first generation Apple TV, £11 off an iPod touch and £7 off an iPod nano. However, deals last year weren't quite as generous.

Promotions will be taking place in other countries including the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, so make sure you mark the date in your calendar.
