Apple has released a revised version of a software update it first shipped earlier this week.

Security Update 2006-002 v1.1 for Mac remains a recommended install for all users, Apple said. The software is available using Software Update or for direct download from the company's website.

Versions of the update are available for Intel and PowerPC-based Macs.

It improves security in the following system components: automount, Bom, Directory Services, IPSec, LibSystem, loginwindow, perl, and Safari.
