Apple has details of refurbished products for sale on its Web site.

The company has decided to make its refurbished products available – but only on Wednesdays. Similar products were traditionally only available to dealers as ‘B-Stock.’ These are products originally returned to the company because of faults. Such products are repaired and sold as is (in working order) on a first-come, first-served basis.

A note on Apple’s site reveals: “These refurbished products have been unpacked and manipulated. They might, however, exhibit some minor cosmetic imperfection.”

Minor imperfections And explains: “Refurbished products can include demonstration machines, units needing minor repairs, and customer cancellations. These items have been fully tested by Apple and carry the same guarantee and support as all new Apple products.”

Refurbished stock is available at up to a 45 per cent discount, and ships with full documentation. There’s a chance that such purchases may be slightly cosmetically imperfect – marked, scratched or discoloured.

Orders must be placed using a credit card by contacting Apple on 0800 039 1010.
