Apple has issued a 2MB update to iDVD, its iLife application for authoring multimedia DVDs.
iDVD 4.0.1 is recommended for all users of iDVD 4. Apple says it provides improved reliability when authoring and burning DVDs.
iDVD 4.0 ships as part of the company's £39 (including VAT) iLife 04 suite of digital lifestyle applications which Apple ships with all new Macs. iDVD also ships for free with new SuperDrive-equipped Macs.
The new version of iDVD was introduced at Macworld Expo earlier this year. Faster than its predecessors the application offers many new enhancements, including support for iTunes Playlists and iPhoto and the capability to insert up to 99 chapter markers from an iMovie project to help users create even more professional DVDs.
iDVD also offers a selection of pre-made professionally designed themes and menu transitions which can be freely used in projects.
The update requires Mac OS X 10.2.6 or later.
