Apple has released the latest version of its integrated Mac OS X development environment, Xcode 2.3.

Alongside some bug and stability improvements, Xcode 2.3 includes a new DWARF debugging format for improved debugging fidelity and efficient utilisation of disk space. This means Xcode now offers two such applications built in, as DWARF supplements the Stabs tools available in previous versions, according to Apple's release notes.

The software also includes a new Distributed Network Build (DNB) scalable build architecture.

Xcode includes all the tools developers require to create, debug, and optimise their own Universal applications, for both Intel and PowerPC platforms.
