Apple has removed three channel reps who handled resellers and distributors in Canada – leaving resellers in the country "incensed".
President of Toronto-based Carbon Computing, Ron Paley told IT Business: "They were doing excellent jobs and had many years of experience."
Paley added that he is: "Baffled as to why Apple made this move," suggesting, "maybe they have a brilliant thing that’s coming down the pipe."
Apple Canada's national sales manager resellers Mary Percat issued a statement saying: "Apple has had some minor staff reductions in the normal course of business, but our overall headcount worldwide continues to grow. Apple Canada remains strongly committed to its resellers and will continue to work closely with them to meet the evolving needs of our customers."
The move has fuelled rumours that Apple plans to open its own retail stores in Canada.
