Apple has announced ProCare – a $99 privilege card for shoppers in its US Apple Stores.
Apple says: "As a ProCare member you’ll enjoy a higher level of service and support at your local Apple Retail Store. With ProCare, you’ll get added benefits over and above our standard level of service."
The benefits includes next-day turnaround on in-store repairs; advanced reservations for the Genius Bar; free setup and transferring of files to a new Mac; free workshops; discounts on Apple and third-party products; and a price match guarantee.
To qualify for ProCare it is necessary to purchase a new Apple computer at an Apple Retail Store.
Last June Apple announced the Pro Card, described as a "passport to a world of benefits and privileges designed exclusively for the professional Mac user." Many of the benefits of ProCare were offered under the Pro Card scheme but one of the conditions was that holders must purchase a Power Mac G5.
Customers with Apple Store Pro Card's can get a years ProCare membership for free before July 31.
