Apple last night released an update to its music composition software, Soundtrack.
The update is available through Mac OS X's software update feature. It brings the application to version 1.1. The update improves the application’s Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) compatibility, and lets it harness "new features" in the new OS.
Apple's brief accompanying notes for the 25.6MB download say it: "Includes general fixes as well as improvements in performance and linking of relocated project audio files. Soundtrack 1.1 is strongly recommended for all users of Soundtrack 1.0 and Soundtrack 1.0.1."
The update also improves recording latency, Apple says.
Soundtrack users can make professional-quality music using a set of royalty-free music libraries that ship with the application. Available now as a stand-alone product, it was originally made available as a component of Final Cut Pro 4.
