Aerospace and high-tech manufacturer Honeywell has sued Apple and 33 other companies for alleged patent infringement.

The companies are accused of infringing on a patent for technology that increases image brightness and reduces the appearance of "certain interference effects" on a liquid crystal display, or LCD.

Apple, Dell, Kodak, Bokiam, Sony, Toshiba and Nikon are accused of using this technology in the manufacturer of consumer electronics products including notebook computers, mobile phones, digital cameras, portable DVD players and video game systems.

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages and an injunction to stop products from being sold that infringe on the patent.
