Apple has been named as an approved supplier to supply software to UK Local Education Authorities (LEAs).

The British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (Becta) has published this year's list of approved firms.

The move means Apple will be included in the current year's Software Licensing catalogue, which offers schools and other educational establishments a wide range of software licences. It's basically a UK education price guide.

With this scheme, BECTA aims to furnish schools with the information they need to secure the best possible deals within their budgetary requirements.
