Apple is holding two courses in March - a free showcase of the company's new products and a separate AppleScript lesson series.
The company will exhibit its DVD-authoring solutions and the new PowerMac G4 and PowerBook G4 ranges in Manchester on March 1, Uxbridge on March 6 and Glasgow on March 13.
The seminars are designed to appeal to Mac enthusiasts as well as PC users. New applications - such as Mac OS X, iTunes, iDVD and DVD Studio Pro - will be demonstrated, along with iMovie and Final Cut Pro.
Third-party support Other seminar highlights will include a product showcase, where attendees can use third-party software, such as Connectix's Virtual PC, Alias|Wavefront’s Maya and Microsoft's Office 2001 for Mac. More information on programme events is available from Apple's Web site.
Apple is also hosting a series of AppleScript classes, from March 13-15, at its Uxbridge headquarters.
The lessons will teach AppleScript basics and show how to create automated-workflow solutions by controlling applications with AppleScript.
AppleScript solutions The two-day session covers AppleScript basics and scripting FileMaker Pro and QuarkXPress. Participants will finish the course by developing AppleScript solutions.
An optional third day looks at advanced AppleScript techniques and covers scripting the Finder.
The courses start at 9am and finish at 5pm. A programme of the day's events is available online.
Each participant receives a kit containing a guide with the course schedule and printouts of the course slides with an area for note taking and exercises.
Danny Goodman's AppleScript Handbook: Second Edition, is also supplied along with a participant CD that contains soft copies of the course's printed material.
