Apple UK has launched its special money-off "Student Union" back-to-school deal.
On top of its regular education student discounts, the company is offering £100 discount to those who buy a qualifying Mac and an iPod from the Apple Store for Education or an Apple retail store between August 2 and October 8, 2005.
The £100 is available in the form of a mail-in rebate, but the scheme is not available against purchases made through Apple's reseller network, Apple said.
iBooks, PowerBooks, iMacs and Power Macs are all qualifying systems for the purposes of the deal. However, 12-inch CD-ROM iBooks, any eMac and any Mac mini are not available under this scheme, nor is the iPod shuffle. All products must be purchased at the same time and included in the same rebate to be eligible.
Full-time and part-time students of 18-years old or more who have a valid student union card and also teachers or lecturers can benefit from the rebate offer.
