Apple has seemingly developed a truly universal remote control.
The company has patented a "wireless touch-screen remote control concept" that's capable of controlling computers as well as "existing and future consumer electronics applicances", AppleInsider reports.
A patent filed by the company in April 2002 describes the device as having a screen, and to be capable of controlling computers, TVs, stereos, video and DVD players.
"Once an appliance is detected, the remote would request a set of user-interface controls from the appliance and then make those controls accessible to the user via graphics on the remote's touch-screen," the report claims.
The patent is available to the public at the US Patent Office website.
