Apple has released two network-focused updates for Mac OS X, making these available using the Software Update feature of the OS.
AirPort 2.0.4 upgrades AirPort hardware in all versions of cards and Base Stations.
The company says: “If you’re using AirPort 2.0.4 with earlier versions of the Apple AirPort Card and/or Apple AirPort Base Station, your hardware may be upgraded with new features and capabilities.” Further details are available in the release notes supplied with the upgrade.
The update confers the ability to dial into the Base Station using a PPP connection, enabling remote use of AirPort-connected Macs.
Networking Update 1.0 is designed to improve network and Internet access following a restart, or on waking a Mac from sleep.
