Just a few days before Macworld Expo San Francisco, Apple has released updates for AirPort Extreme and Express for Mac and Windows systems.

Four updates are available: For Mac there's AirPort Extreme Firmware Update 5.7 for Mac OS X and AirPort Express Firmware Update 6.3 for Mac OS X; For Windows there's also version 5.7 for Extreme and 6.3 for Express. All the updates weigh in at 2.5MB.

All the updates are described as: "Addressing reliability and resolves issues with AirTunes, AirPort compatibility, and issues with some third party Routers."

The updates launch automatically when downloaded, "offering the opportunity to update a number of base stations", the company said.

Each version of the firmware update contains versions 5.7 and 6.3 for the Extreme and Express base stations, respectively. All users need do is ensure they download an update appropriate to their OS.

Listed Fixes include:

Resolves issue with Audio dropout when playing to AirPort Express with AirTunes;
Resolves issue with Wireless Disabled mode for AirPort Express;
Resolves issue with AirPort Extreme LAN Performance;
Resolves issue when enabling AOL Parental Controls;
Resolves issue with vulnerability to Denial of Service Attacks (bonk);
Resolves issue with wireless internet access through AirPort via some PPPoA DSL Routers;
Improved reliability when printing through AirPort base stations;
Improved support for RADIUS servers;
Improved support for Network Time Servers (NTP) for AirPort when using an IP addresses.
