Five celebrity AppleMasters are due to give speeches at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose next month.

Herbie Hancock, James Woods, Gregory Hines and Bryan Adams will give presentations on how Apple technology has influenced them at 8.00pm (PST) on Monday, May 15.

The AppleMasters Program is designed to boost Apple's kudos by recognizing well-known Macintosh users. Other AppleMasters include Douglas Adams, Jennifer Lason Leigh, Muhammad Ali and Jarvis Cocker.

The WWDC runs May 15 to 19, with "earlybird sessions" on May 14. The conference comprises daily sessions highlighting Mac OS X, OpenGL, QuickTime and Macintosh hardware, as well as an exhibition area and the Apple Design Awards.
