Apple's vice president of industrial design Jonathan Ive has won his second major award in a week.

Last week he took the President's Award from the Design and Art Direction (D&AD) charity.

Today, the BBC reveals Ive to have taken a second President's prize: he has won the President's Medal from the Royal Academy of Engineering.

This was awarded to him because of his contribution in promoting engineering excellence. These awards are known as the "engineering Oscars".

Cambridge company CSR, a major contributor to Bluetooth chip technology took the £50,000 MacRobert prize.
