Apple has scored highly in surveys conducted among its US customers, who are "very satisfied" by its technical support.
The surveys, from ConsumerReports.org, asked the sample group about their most recent experiences with manufacturers' technical support.
For laptop users the survey covered the period between September 2003 to December 2004; for desktops it covers the September 2003 to January 2005 period.
Apple achieved the best satisfaction levels among both notebook and desktop customers, achieving an 84 and 81 score respectively ("very satisfied").
The sample group included 4,500 notebook users and 8,000 desktop purchasers using different manufacturers computers.
IBM and Toshiba trailed Apple in the laptop category while Dell and Gateway pursued the company in the desktop space.
