Aspyr has released a multiplayer demo of its Battlefield 1942 game for Macs.
The demo lets gamers take a taste of the title's online play features, using the popular GameRanger service. A 28MB download the trial version lets players use one of the maps included in the full version.
It's a World War II combat game in which players are engaged in one of 16 battles from the conflict, including the hugely bloody Stalingrad, a turning point for the war which saw millions of Soviets overcome German invasion troops, and ultimately led to a Soviet counterattack leading all the way to Hitler's Berlin bunker.
Action stretches across continents: Eastern and Western Europe, North Africa and the Pacific. Players are in control of up to 35 authentic Allied (or Axis) vehicles and choose between five character classes.
